CASE STUDY: Foundry - Sand Casting
Like many foundry operations, the company was having problems with abrasion at its Texas and Pennsylvania plants. Sand-casting is a very abrasive process. After being cast in sand, the company’s products would then be dropped onto shaker tables, subsequently breaking off pieces of sand in the process. These particles of sand and sand-covered components would then move around on the shaker tables, abrading the surface.
The company was desperately in need of a thick, protective lining capable of protecting its AR400 steel equipment from impact and abrasion. Because of Rhino's™ thick durable, protective linings, the company was able to increase plant productivity. The company realized a reduction in downtime and maintenance costs. Rhino Linings® could be economically re-applied as needed. Rhino Linings provided a thick protective lining solution against impact and abrasion, resulting in increased uptime and plant efficiency.
