Accounting Assistant – Accounts Payable

Purpose of Position:  RLCorp Accounting Assistant - A/P provides general clerical assistance to Controller; responsible for all activities in the accounts payable function. Ensures timely payments of vendor invoices and expense vouchers and maintains accurate records and control reports.

Major accountabilities: Including but not limited to:

  • Review, process, and reconcile to vendor statements, purchase orders, and receiving documents of high volume of A/P invoices in accordance with company policies and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.
  • Research, resolve, and respond to employee and vendor account and payment inquiries.
  • Maintain employee and vendor files.
  • Process weekly ACH payments for U.S., Canada A/P, and Europe vendors.
  • Perform month end close such as accrual of invoices and un-invoiced expenses.
  • Maintain efficient and effective internal control and processes to ensure proper accounting and reporting.
  • Enter, review and process 1099's.
  • Assist with A/R functions.
  • Work with the accounting team to complete work in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Prepare various montly Journal Entries to GL, accruals, account reconcilliation and close.

Qualifications:

  • Two year accounting degreee or at least two years of bookkeeping, general accounting or accounts payable professional work experience.
  • One year computer experience in Windows environment software, MSWord, Excel and computerized general ledger software.
  • Strong attention to detail to match, code, reconcile invoices in high volume and meet organizational deadlines.
  • Motivated self-starter with excellent analytical, communication, teamwork and organizational skills.
  • Must manage competing and hanging priorities.
  • Able to operate ten-key calculator by touch.

Consumer Assistance Representative

Purpose of Position:  Under direct supervision, promotes the use of conciliation to resolve RLCorp warranty disputes and negotiations between consumers and businesses providing unsurpassed customer service, assistance and support. (San Diego Corporate Office location)

Major Accountabilities:  Including but not limited to the following:

  • Promotes use of fact finding and advisory services to facilitate warranty disputes and to maintain sound relationships.
  • Analyzes warranty information obtained, protects sensitive and confidential information, interviews parties and clarifies problems to focus discussion on crucial points of disagreement.
  • Assists parties to compromise and settle deadlocked warranty negotiations.
  • Identifies and documents customer concerns and/or requests.
  • Reponds and assists with the warranty claims.
  • Performs customer follow up.
  • Manages difficult or emotional customer warranty situations.
  • Closes warranty disputes accurately and in a timely manner.

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or one to two years related work experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Two years computer experience in Windows environment software, MSWork, Excel and Outlook.
  • ACT and GreatPlains computer experience preferred.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concreate variables in standardized situations.
  • Approaches others in a tactful manner and reacts well under pressure.
  • Ability to focus on solving conflict, not blaming.
  • Ability to prioritize projects, handle multiple tasks, work independently and as a team player, work under pressure and meet dealines.
  • Superior organizational skills with attention to accuracy and detail.
  • Gathers and analyzes information skillfully.
  • Uses reason even when dealing with emotional topics.
